Lily Rosetta

I feel like I live a pretty normal, quiet life, but if you are interested, here is my story.

I was born on a military base in Germany. And bounced around most of Washington though I claim Seattle as home. After high school, I decided a change of scene was a must. I’m not a big fan of constant gray clouds, so I went about as opposite as I could find in the USA.

Following my oldest sister to Arizona, where I found a tiny school to attend. Once there, I majored in theatre with an eye to continue my studies to become an anthropologist. (That obviously didn’t happen) Instead, I found the love of my life who inspired my current career. The poor guy was doomed from day one. He was assigned to a house that just happened to house three of my best guy friends, all theater majors. He was the complete opposite of me, the sexy jock to my nerd. We bonded over our mutual interest in Football, which I later discovered were on very different levels of interest.
After a whirlwind courtship of 6 months, yes, I know it was fast, that included a four-day breakup. My hero proposed to me over Thanksgiving at his hometown, at a place that still holds my heart overlooking the lake and valley. Our wedding was in as near a castle as we could find in Mesa, Arizona. But this was just the start for us. After our wedding, we jumped around a bit. 8 moves in 4 states in a year and a half.

We finally settled a little to finish school at New Mexico State University in southern New Mexico. Yes, it is a state. The one everyone forgets is between Texas and Arizona. I love that joke, sorry.

After the hubby graduated, the stars aligned for our plans of moving to his hometown actually happened.

Five years and two puppies later and lots of heartbreak. We brought home our perfect baby girl to our tiny apartment. She was our pride and joy as well as our only child for the next four years when, with even more help, we welcomed our second angel girl into our hearts and home. But that wasn’t the end. In a true act of God, I became pregnant for the third time and only unassisted pregnancy and welcomed our beautiful baby boy. Motherhood has been the adventure of a lifetime, and I wouldn’t change a second of it, but there have always been so many stories fighting for space in my head that needed to be written.

So after realizing that if I wanted to write my books my way, I would have to go the Indie route, I took the plunge and published my first novel, only to panic a few months in.

So I started over. In the days and nights when my chronic illness and its associated pain kept sleep away, I found solace in the characters and adventures of my own creation. But things didn’t really take off for me until I found a community of writers online that encouraged me to reach for more and push me to jump into the life of a writer.

The Harper brothers took shape in those stolen moments, in the quiet of my crazy, cozy little house. With kids and, more often, cats by my side, I made my writing dreams a reality.

Life has been an ever-changing, ever-evolving path for this weird romance writer. This self-proclaimed city girl finally found the roots I have always craved and made a home in the rural New Mexico country. Mornings are filled with sounds of animals and children, and there is plenty of mud and love in my house.

As for my writing career, that is just starting. Stories cannot help from forming faster than I can get them down, but they will all eventually come out to the world. With hopefully only brief pauses for my health, I will continue creating worlds for us both to escape into.
